Thought Process and sketches
The Danish Startup Bible (2022)
From the outset, the project had a few key requirements: use an isometric style, include a unicorn, and represent Denmark. Although unfamiliar with isometric design, I researched and learned the necessary techniques. The initial sketches, unfortunately, got lost along the way, but I have the later stages of the process. The project was challenging due to my limited illustration skills, but I leveraged resources like Envato Elements, Vecteezy, FreePik, and PngWing. Despite some limitations, like FreePik's download caps, I creatively navigated them using a VPN, ultimately delivering the project successfully.
From University to Unicorn (2022)
The ideation process for this project mirrored the previous one. I was asked to design a front page that captured the concept of someone becoming a unicorn at a university. I interpreted this literally, depicting a person with a unicorn horn standing on a table, surrounded by diverse individuals to symbolize varied possibilities. Using vector illustrations from my usual resources, I refined the design with Illustrator and Photoshop, adjusting colors and positions. The final touch was adding a crayon texture to evoke a school vibe, with a hidden "Hello" as a fun Easter egg.
Tech For The Planet (2022)
We had a clear vision from the start: to feature the world/globe on the cover, with Europe at its center, showcasing global connections. Initially unsure how to execute this, the process evolved over time. I used a Poli style and 3D models from Envato Elements, which allowed for easy rotation before downloading. Coloring and shading were straightforward. Small additions, like sheep and cows, added depth without overwhelming details. Representing "connectivity" was challenging, but I opted for an electrical theme as the most intuitive solution.
The Danish Startup Bible (2023)
The concept was to capture the essence of an event that gathers startups from the Danish ecosystem and across Europe. We envisioned representing this as various professionals hanging around a BBQ, symbolizing the TechBBQ event. Among the crowd, a unicorn stands out, representing the unique opportunities the event offers. The scene was meant to convey the sharing of ideas, connections, and scientific innovation, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the event.

The Danish Startup Bible (2024) Upcoming
Since we had less time this year, the focus was on making a few adjustments to last year's edition—primarily tweaking colors and increasing spacing. Because I save all the PSD/AI files, it was straightforward to implement these changes. The updated edition is expected to be distributed to around 9,000 attendees at the event and elsewhere.
